Introduction to Figure Drawing

In this introductory 2 hour class, learn the fundamentals of drawing the human figure. We’ll begin with the traditional “8 head measuring method” learning to map the body’s key landmarks and how to make a figure look real. After practicing, we’ll shift to gesture drawing-capturing movement and expression in a series of drawings. Bring photos of people you’d like to draw and leave with a basic understanding of figure drawing and the tools to keep practicing on your own.
