Aliena Shoemaker

Secretary

Aliena has lived in several states and other countries, and worked in several fields. While in college, she wrote for printed and online comics platforms. Now she works with clay, resin, acrylic, and whatever else strikes her fancy that week.

She believes entirely in the developmental, educational, and mental benefits of art. She is suffocated nightly by her two cats and dog.

Mission Statement

Renton Art Oasis is a nonprofit dedicated to nurturing the creative spirit of Renton’s local artists through access to resources, public exposure, and community-driven programming. We believe art is for everyone, and we work to remove barriers by offering free or low-cost classes, providing art supplies, and creating inclusive spaces where all people—regardless of background or income—can participate. Our mission is to cultivate a vibrant arts scene by empowering artists and fostering meaningful connections between creators and the community.

We believe:

Art lives everywhere - not just in galleries or studios, but in neighborhoods, conversations, and everyday acts of creativity.

Art is for everyone - every voice matters, and every form of expression
has value.

Art builds community - bringing people together to imagine, heal, and grow.

If it comes from a place of intention, imagination, or lived experience,
it belongs here.

Renton Art Oasis is a home for all forms of art—and all who create it.
