Mixing Magic: A Color Theory Workshop

This focused workshop, taught by artist Glenna Tsang, introduces foundational color theory through the creation of two color wheels. Students will first work in watercolor to establish a shared understanding of clean mixing and transparent layering. They will then create a second color wheel using their own preferred paint medium (acrylic, gouache, etc.) to compare pigment behavior and mixing results. This is great for deciding whether to upgrade to professional gaining greater depth into the realm of color mixing.

This side-by-side approach allows students to directly observe how different materials affect color intensity, transparency, and blending.
