Unplug, unwind, and let nature guide your brush in this 3-hour plein air (open-air) watercolor painting workshop taught by artist Susan Payne. Whether you're a beginner or looking to refresh your creative practice, this class invites you to explore watercolor techniques in a relaxed and inspiring open-air setting.
In this relaxed mostly outdoor workshop you’ll practice time‑tested techniques, discover how light changes your palette, and walk in the footsteps of celebrated plein‑air masters.
We’ll start in the classroom with a short demo covering sketching and watercolor basics—color mixing, washes, brush control, and how to capture light and texture in nature. Then we will go outdoors and you'll choose your own view or subject (flowers, trees, landscapes, or abstract impressions), and paint at your own pace with instructor guidance available throughout.
You’ll leave with one or more completed watercolor studies, fresh inspiration, and a deeper appreciation for the beauty of painting…
